Lights, Camera, Rebrand: Ford Design Group Crafts New Identity for Dark Horse Stages

At Ford Design, we’re always excited to work on projects that challenge us creatively and push the boundaries of design. Recently, we had the privilege of collaborating with Dark Horse Stages, a top-tier film studio based right here in Wilmington, NC.

A Fresh Identity for Dark Horse Stages

Dark Horse Stages, a staple in North Carolina’s booming film industry, approached us with a clear vision: they needed a new logo that would reflect their evolution and set them apart in a competitive market. The studio has quickly become a go-to location for filmmakers, providing state-of-the-art facilities that have hosted productions from major players, including Paramount and the Hallmark Channel.

Dark Horse Stages came to use with a tight deadline, requiring a modern logo that could be immediately applied to branded apparel for an upcoming photo shoot.

Delivering on a Tight Deadline

Time was of the essence for this project. Dark Horse Stages had a rebranding deadline and a photo shoot on the horizon, so we knew we had to act fast. Our team at Ford Design rolled up our sleeves and got to work, designing a logo that not only met the client’s expectations but exceeded them. The result is a bold, modern mark that embodies the innovative and professional spirit of Dark Horse Stages.

Key elements of our design process included:

      1. Rapid ideation and concept development
      2. Close collaboration with the client to ensure alignment with their vision
      3. Consideration of various applications, from digital platforms to physical branding

Beyond the Logo: A Full Branding Experience

In addition to the new logo, we also provided Dark Horse Stages with custom apparel for their upcoming photo shoot. This allowed them to showcase their fresh brand identity in a cohesive and visually compelling way. The new branding has already started turning heads in the industry, further establishing Dark Horse Stages as a leader in Wilmington’s film scene.

This rebranding coincides with a significant expansion of their facilities, including two new purpose-built sound stages set to open in the fall, doubling their production space to 40,750 square feet.

    Working with Industry Leaders

We’re proud to have played a role in the continued success of Dark Horse Stages. Their dedication to providing exceptional service and top-quality facilities is unmatched, and we’re honored to have contributed to their rebranding efforts. As they continue to attract filmmakers from across the country, we’re confident that their new logo will serve as a strong visual representation of their commitment to excellence.

    Looking Ahead

As Ford Design moves forward, we remain committed to helping brands like Dark Horse Stages tell their stories through thoughtful and impactful design. We’re excited to see where this rebranding journey takes them and look forward to more collaborations in the future.
